In Raft Survival Ultimate you can actually surround yourself with everything you need for a comfy living, no worse than ashore. Garden and kitchen, shower and bedroom, all kinds of furniture and even decor items. You don’t even have to be satisfied with just one floor and add a few more! This kind of raft already looks like a small ship. But there is no limit to the engineering thought! Your survival quest may go on as long as you wish. And it won’t get boring. The more you play the more opportunities open to you and the more intricate stuff you learn to make. After all, the game is not so much about survival as about crafting. So don’t just wait for a passing ship to rescue you, they don’t visit these places very often! Your fate, your life is in your own hands. And it’s up to you what it will be like!
Raft is a survival game developed by start-up company RedBeet Interactive. The game is only available on PC and distributed by Valve so it’s only available to get on Steam. The game has two modes, singleplayer and multiplayer. Players upon entering the game can choose to Co-op mode and play with their friends together. We find ourselves in the blue ocean alone with no land in sight with a dry throat and an empty stomach trapped on a small raft with nothing but a hook made out of old plastic. The objective of the game is to stay alive, there is no fighting type of simulations in the game so you have to scare away the main thing that is trying to kill you which in this case is a shark. A shark will often come and bite the edge of the raft that you’re on. If it gets you, you will simply die. Although you can make weapons in the game, it is a hard task. You have to gather your resources by throwing your hook and pulling it back to the raft.
Raft started as a prototype on Itch.io and with the amazing support from the community, an Early Access version full of new features, online multiplayer and more is now available on Steam since May 23rd 2018! As far as the history of the game goes, it started as a student project in Sweden, at Uppsala University. A group of three students spent 4 months to create the prototype of the game. Eventually, the prototype was released for free on itch.io in December 2016. While the group was on Christmas break, Raft got a lot of attention and it was played and covered by major YouTubers like Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, and FGTeeV. The developer team decided to move to Skövde and continue to develop Raft into something bigger and better. The group teamed up with Axolot Games in search of an investor and publisher. With the support of Axolot Games, the team founded the Redbeet Studio Interactive.
I guess we can say that Raft is a success story of three university students. If you are a person into survival games we highly recommend giving the game a shot. There are many features in the game that expands the gameplay further and it almost feels like there are no limits to the game at all.
